Володимир Нікулін — поліцейський Головного управління Національної поліції в Донецькій області та один з головних героїв оскароносної документальної стрічки «20 днів у Маріуполі». Це та сама людина, завдяки якій команда Мстислава Чернова, Євгена Малолєткі й Василиси Степаненко зуміла виїхати з Маріуполя та вивезти фото- і відеодокази численних злочинів росіян — перетнувши близько 15 блокпостів. В інтерв’ю Sestry Володимир розповів про хитрощі, до яких вдавався під час евакуації; про співпрацю з відомими журналістами та про те, як завдяки печиву зрозумів, що все в житті повертається: і добро, і зло.
«Для мене стало ударом, як багато тих, кого я знав, стали зрадниками»
— У Маріуполі я опинився після того, як Донецьк — мій дім — був захоплений, — розповідає Володимир Нікулін. — Вже понад 30 років я працюю у правоохоронних органах. І працював у Донецькій обласній поліції у 2014, коли відбулися епохальні події. Ми захищали Обласну держадміністрацію, коли були спроби її захопити. Я залишався у Донецьку навіть тоді, коли він був майже захоплений. Але влітку 2014 року ми з родиною покинули дім. На той час це був єдиний варіант продовжувати службу, яка є для мене дуже важливою.
Особливо важко мені було прийняти факт, що не всі українські міліціонери тоді виїхали з окупованого Донецька — не всі залишилися вірними присязі. Адже багатьох я знав особисто, ми разом служили. І ось вони свідомо зробили вибір стати зрадниками.
Ті, хто залишились у Донецьку, перейшли на бік ворога. А ті, хто не зрадив, опинилися зрештою в Маріуполі.
Говорити про свій дім у Донецьку важко. Сподіваюся, він цілий. Взагалі я вже залишив три своїх домівки: у Донецьку, в Маріуполі та в Мирнограді. Коли ми їхали з Донецька, нічого не взяв із речей. Пам'ятаю літнє взуття в сіточку, формену сорочку з короткими рукавами. Навіть штанів не взяв — шукав вже форму на місці,. Але були вірні товариші по службі й відчуття свободи. Якого в Донецьку вже не було.
У Маріуполі ми працювали у скороченому складі. Наприклад, у підрозділі Обласної поліції раніше працювало 120 людей, а залишилося — 12. Коли було створено поліцію, я як міліціонер пройшов всі етапи люстрації, переатестації. Часто їздив до Авдіївки. Мене дивувало, як люди там живуть — під обстрілами. Але жили, бо залишались держава і свобода. Діти гуляли на майданчиках, працювали магазини.
Мій товариш по службі після отримання поранення на фронті навіть купив в Авдіївці квартиру. Отак люди любили свою землю й вірили в перемогу
— Чи готувалися ви до повномасштабної війни?
— В 2021, коли ми вже мали інформацію на рівні закордонної розвідки про те, що Росія готується, ми теж почали підготовку. І це нам дуже допомогло. Колись, у 2014 році, ми багато втратили, бо не були готові й не змогли зорієнтуватися. У Маріуполі ми вже такого не допустили. Наприклад, жодного документа чи справи росіяни при окупації Маріуполя не отримали. Як і зброї. Ми все вивезли ще до початку повномасштабного вторгнення. Також не було такої кількості зрадників, як тоді в Донецьку. Ми змогли зберегти порядок. Наскільки це можливо за таких умов.
Для нас, донецьких поліцейських, війна почалася не в 2022, а в 2014. І коли 24 лютого о 5 ранку мене розбудив керівник словами «бойова тривога», я одразу все зрозумів. Дуже боляче було усвідомлювати, що під ударом опинилася вся країна.
«Щоранку я благав: тільки щоб не влучило в будинок, де моя сім'я»
— Якими вам запам’ятались перші 20 днів у Маріуполі?
— Ніколи не забуду ті дні. Пізніше до мене прийде осмислення чи переосмислення. А поки я у вирі подій.Чуєте? Ми розмовляємо, а в цей час лунають вибухи. І я думаю про те, що робити і куди їхати після закінчення обстрілів у Краматорську. Думати про інше поки немає часу. Але я пам’ятаю кожен день і кожну людину, яка була поруч.
Початок великої війни мені запам'ятався наповзаючим відчуттям катастрофи. Я відчував її кожною клітиною свого тіла. А потім побачив, як місто починають вбивати. Росіяни лізли на Маріуполь з усіх боків. Ми розуміли, що воно їм дуже потрібне, але чинили опір, щоб не повторити історію Донецька.
Моя дружина з донькою прийняли рішення залишилися в Маріуполі. Дружина сказала: «Не хочу, щоб було, як у Донецьку. Не хочу більше нікуди бігти. Хочу бути у себе вдома».
І щодня рано вранці я йшов на службу, дивився на будинок, де залишалась моя родина, і боявся, що бачу його цілим востаннє
Це було найстрашнішим. Коли відбувались удари та влучання (а вони ставалися постійно), я щоразу думав: «Благаю, тільки не в будинок, де моя сім'я».
У мене як у поліцейського було багато роботи. Спочатку вивіз документацію. Потім збір зброї, підготовка матеріалів для укріплень. А коли почався наступ — допомога людям. Поліція залишалася в місті до останнього. Ми розвозили гуманітарну допомогу, памперси, шукали для людей прихисток. Сконтактовували людей з лікарями. Був момент, коли ми вже були в оточенні в лікарні. А до цього я привозив до цієї лікарні печиво — кругле з фруктовою начинкою. І от коли ми в лікарні вже ховалися в підвалі, лікарі принесли нам це саме печиво. Так воно до мене повернулося.
— Шкодуєте, що залишалися в Маріуполі так довго?
— Насправді шкодую, що поїхав. Бо я дуже не хотів, щоб повторився досвід мого рідного Донецька. В Маріуполі залишалося багато людей. Вони потребували допомоги. Маріуполь оточували, бомбували, атакували. Не давали можливості місцевим вибратися з міста. Кожна людина в Маріуполі тоді знаходилась на межі — між життям і смертю. Бомби з літаків, ракети, артилерія. Будинки вигорали. Росіяни свідомо все руйнували, аби зламати спротив.
Били і по управлінню державної служби надзвичайних ситуацій (ДСНС) — щоб рятувальники не допомагали людям. Люди гинули страшною смертю. Наприклад, ховалися в підвалі будинку, в який прилітали снаряди, і людей засипало. Вони не могли вибратись. А допомогти було нікому — ДСНС вже не працювала. Лікарі під обстрілами витягували людей. Герої. І таких історій — безліч. Постраждалих — десятки, сотні тисяч. Мирні люди, діти... Засипані уламками в підвалах. Пізніше росіяни не ховали загиблих, а просто кудись вивозили.
Ми навіть не уявляємо, з чим стикнемось, коли звільнимо Маріуполь…
«Ми подивились один на одного й зрозуміли — відтепер будемо триматися разом»
— Пам'ятаєте, як познайомилися зі Мстиславом Черновим, Євгеном Малолєткою і Василисою Степаненко?
— Ми зустрілися за жахливих подій — коли росіяни били по пологовому будинку (9 березня 2022 року).
— Я був вражений цією командою. Майже зруйнований Маріуполь, у місті — тільки місцеві. І тут я бачу людей з написами "Press". Вони були у шоломах, бронежилетах. Я спочатку подумав, що це іноземні журналісти. І, щиро кажучи, дуже їм зрадів. Це була така трохи егоїстична радість, але мені не соромно, бо я отримав надію, що те, що відбувається з нашим містом, має шанс стати надбанням людства. Росіяни вміють брехати, і я переживав, що вони знову приховають свої злочини.
Спочатку я познайомився зі Мстиславом. Він сказав, що з Харкова. Я спитав: «Як ви тут? Може, вам потрібна допомога?» Він не відповів. Ми просто подивились один на одного — і я зрозумів, що тепер їм допомагатиму. Бо це потрібно. Не тільки їм, а й мені. Відтоді ми були разом.
Те, як вони працювали, мене вражало. Професійно, чітко, безстрашно. Важливим моментом була передача відзнятих матеріалів. Це було майже неможливо в тих умовах. По-перше, вони вже стали ворогами для росіян. По-друге, місць з доступом до інтернету в місті вже було мало. Спочатку ми їздили в центр, там була базова станція Київстар. У фільмі є кадри, як ми туди приїжджали, сиділи під бетонними сходами, росіяни бомбили, а Мстислав з телефона відправляв відзняті матеріали. Коли перестала працювати і ця точка, ми стали їздити до командного пункту Нацгвардії та Морської піхоти, де була супутникова мережа. Там стратегічний об’єкт — поліцейські у формі з автоматами. Коли ми приїжджали, щоб передати матеріали, всі за моїм проханням відключалися від Wi-Fi. Навіть питань не ставили. Усі тоді розуміли важливість інформації, яка згодом вплинула на багатьох у світі. Зокрема, на передачу нам військової допомоги.
«Не знав, чи доїде кудись моє потрощене авто. Але завів машину — і ми рушили»
— Ми відбивались як могли. Раділи кожному відбитому метру. Коли вдавалося відвоювати бодай один будинок, тішились так, ніби звільнили ціле місто.
З одного боку міста росіяни почали атаку Маріуполя з лікарні. Пам’ятаю, снайпер поранив головну медсестру в шию. З іншого боку міста — танкова атака. В одному з кадрів фільму є картина, як російський танк сховався за церкву. Потім він виїхав і почав розстрілювати будинки, в яких були люди.

Пам'ятаю очі людей, які переховувались у лікарні разом з нами. Серед них було чимало літніх і жінок, і вони дивилися на нас із благаючим проханням «зробіть щось, щоб нас не вбили». Я казав усім не показуватись у вікнах. Розумів, що якби ми стали чинити опір, нас би всіх розстріляли. З оточення нас вивів спецпідрозділ ЗСУ. Врятував нас.
— Коли і як ви зрозуміли, що час виїжджати з Маріуполя?
— Події розвивалися динамічно. Росіяни не робили гуманітарних коридорів для мешканців Маріуполя. І 14 березня люди почали прориватися самостійно. Команді журналістів — Мстиславу, Євгену й Василісі — спеціалісти з безпеки порадили терміново виїжджати. І вони почали шукати шляхи. Я не збирався їхати з Маріуполя, але ми вже стали однією командою. До того ж перша спроба виїхати у них не вдалася. Я відчував, що маю бути з ними до останнього. Тож сказав, що вивезу їх. І свою родину теж.
Автівка Євгена Малолєтки, на якій вони з командою приїхали до Маріуполя 24 лютого, була знищена. Моя машина була розтрощена «Градом», жодного цілого скла у ній не було. Але вона їхала. Я не знав, куди вона доїде. Але завів двигун — і ми рушили. Зараз частина моєї автівки знаходиться у Німеччині в музеї журналістики.
Ми майже нічого з собою не взяли. Маленька валіза доньки та дружини.
Мої зібрані речі стояли у квартирі ще з 2014 — я і не розбирав їх
«Мої хитрощі працювали тому, що на блокпостах стояли непрофесійні військові»
— Ми їхали, не знаючи шляху. Розумів, що їхати основною дорогою не варто. Я працював у карному розшуку, тож дещо знав. Ми поїхали в бік узбережжя. Але до цього нам треба було оминути чергу машин, в яких виїжджали інші. Довжелезні колони машин стояли на виїзд. Я розумів, що треба прориватися, щоб виїхати до заходу сонця — тільки так був шанс вивезти фотографії та відео. Тож вирішив шокувати і ось що запропонував.
Мстислав і Євген у шоломах і бронежилетах, маркованих Press, бігли перед нашим авто. Люди бачили, що біжать журналісти, були шоковані, не знали, що відбувається, і поступалися дорогою. Потім Євген сидів на капоті машини. Це теж був елемент привертання уваги, і люди нас пропускали. Так ми подолали шлях по місту. Це був величезний ризик. Але план спрацював.
Дорогою ми проїжджали багато блокпостів. Якби бодай одну з наших сумок росіяни перевірили, ми б одразу потрапили в полон. Треба було зробити так, щоб нас не оглядали. Тому я діяв як детектив. Відволікав. Наприклад, на кожному блокпості діставав пачку цигарок Marlboro. На очах в окупантів починав палити. Це привертало їхню увагу. Потім пригощав їх цими цигарками. Вони відволікалися і пропускали нас. Це лише маленька частина того, як я на них діяв. Але працювало це тому, що на блокпостах стояли непрофесійні військові. Їх було простіше обдурити. Страшно подумати, що могло б статися, якби нас затримали.
Пам'ятаю момент, коли ми їхали ввечері без жодного освітлення через лінію фронту. Вимкнули фари. У будь-який момент колону, в якій ми пересувалися, могли розстріляти. Так ми проїхали Пологи. Згодом доїхали до чергового блокпосту, де нас освітили ліхтарем. І тут я побачив військового в українській формі. Я вийшов з авто, підійшов до нього і… обійняв. А він — мене. Без слів.
Далі нас уже зупиняли поліцейські, перевіряли документи, машину. Я був на такому адреналіні, що нічого не розумів, але стало трохи легше. Те, що нам вдалося виїхати — таки справжнє диво.
— Вам сниться Маріуполь?
— Поки ні. Думаю, мозок так витісняє спогади. Сни — це коли є час на аналіз. А я продовжую нести службу в Донецькій області. Де б я не був, я буду продовжувати це робити. Бо це моя земля...
